Rahman greets Indian admirers, reactions pour in

Mumbai/Los Angeles, Feb 1 : Awesome reward and god bless you all, said music maestro A R Rahman in his message to Indian admirers from Los Angeles on Monday after winning two Grammys for Jai Ho tracks after his Oscars last year. "Hey guys, back in India, awesome reward, two Grammys again. God bless you all. Good wishes and love," said the Mozart of Madras.
Rahman won the awards for the best compilation sound track for a motion picture (Slumdog Millionaire) and the best motion picture song (Jai Ho) categories.
"This is insane, god is great again," Rahman said on stage after receiving the awards.
In India, veteran lyricist and filmmaker Gulzar was effusive.
Rahman shared the Grammy award for the best motion picture song "Jai ho" with veteran lyricist Gulzar and Tanvi Shah who wrote the Spanish lyrics for it.
"We are all so proud of him. The magic of his music is bringing more and more honours for us from the world. I am proud to be in his team," Gulzar said.
Percussionist Sivamani said: "We are proud. He does not talk much. He talks with his music."
Fatima, Rahman's sister, said: "I thank the almighty. I am so happy."
Singer Ila Arun feels the honour should have come much earlier.
"I am very proud like any other Indian. He should have got it much before. After the Oscar the world got to know that there is a magician," she said.
