Michael Jackson seance show named worst programme of 2009

Derek Acorah's Michael Jackson: The Live Seance has emerged as the worst programme of 2009, according to a poll.

Votes cast by over 9,000 Yahoo! users also saw James Corden and Matthew Horne's comedy sketch show Horne and Corden and Amanda Holden's circus-themed series Big Top making it to the top five in the survey of the past year's biggest TV flop.
Acorah's programme, which was aired live on Sky 1 in November and hosted by June Sarpong, bagged 33 per cent of the votes.
The programme showed Most Haunted star Acorah travelling with four Jackson fans to a house in Ireland where MJ once stayed. He claimed to have contacted the spirit of the King of Pop, who passed away last June, and relayed his messages to friends and family.
"A celebration of Michael's life, the special struck a chord with Jackson's fans and attracted an audience in excess of 600,000," the Scotsman quoted a spokesman for Sky, as saying.
